The MDI Store brings its furnishings to life with sustainable, American-made materials. The design and fabrication studios are under one roof in Seattle.
The natural landscape of the PNW and the locally sourced materials set the foundation. Reused second-use type metal is melted down to form the rolled steel, which retains distinctive, one-of-a-kind markings for an unmatched industrial appeal. The artisanal finishing details — such as the clean weld beads —preserve the care and quality the team infuses for each archival element. Sustainable, American hardwood walnut, with its rich natural beauty, adds a sophisticated symmetry to the steel element. The blackened oil and wax live finish will patina beautifully with use. The collection is innately durable, with a heft and weight in the architectural lines of the pieces.
